The Industrial Revolution is generally considered to have ended in the early 1800's. It's characterized by a period of rapid advancement and change in the way we make products, and also changed the way economic systems work. Though of course we continue to make lots of progress in manufacturing, we are have not been in the Industrial Revolution for a while -- it's called a revolution because it is the time that brought changes about; it doesn't mean that no more changes occur afterwards! We are currently in the digital revolution, which many say started in the 80's (although a case could be made for before).
