stereotypes are generalizations about a certain group of people. they lead to a large misunderstanding of that group, which could lead to people forming prejudice, or a dislike, against them. for example, the stereotype of blondes being dumb leads to prejudice against them in places such as school and the workplace.

Stereotypes are generally the idea about common people, society, and organizations which can be positive, negative, conscious, and unconscious. While prejudice is a feeling of disliking, untrust, and negative attributes towards any person, society, or organization.

How does stereotype affect thinking?

Stereotypes are established on beliefs, and beliefs may change from person to person. It predicts the behavior of the same individual differently.

Prejudice is stimulated by stereotypes. For example, all women are poor drivers. This is a stereotype but it may lead to prejudice by unjustifiable or disliking the women on the basis of stereotype which is not absolutely true.
