- Copernicus's theory had a great impact that angered the Catholic and Protestant Church.

- Galileo was condemned by the Catholic Church for his theory because they believed the Copernicus theory.

- Galileo was accused of heresy and sentenced to house arrest for life.

This made a large impact because over 300 years later they gave him a pardon & finally said he was correct. He was already dead then but the church said he was right.
