Personification is when you give human qualities or human emotions to an object or animal. For example: My alarm clock shouts at me each morning. (Even though the alarm clock can't shout by just ringing in a high pitched sound some sort of music or alarm the person feels like if the clock were actually shouting at him/her each morning. As so do people when they get angry.) Another example would be: My car’s headlights winked at me. (I think this one seems pretty obvious right?)
