Resistance, came from the term used by Harry Byrd to the Supreme Court on year
1954 against the civil rights movement. It had many forms such as the creation
of White Citizens Council, U.S. congress of Alabama opposition and the Ku Klux
Klan (KKK). These movements played an important role as it gathered the
attention to the civil rights on racial discriminations. This made the activists
and citizens demand and support for the substantial changes towards the federal
government.
